The Nashville Lawn & Garden Show is Tennessee’s largest and most popular gardening event that includes an acre of live gardens, a series of free lectures and workshops, a floral design gallery, and more than 250 exhibit booths featuring horticultural products and services, outdoor living décor, and plants and flowers.

This year’s show theme for 2013 is ” Jardins du Soleil” (Gardens of the Sun) featuring gardens from around the globe.

Our designs will be in the  spectacular” Gallery of Floral Art” and we’ll be alongside some of the best floral designers in the  mid-south region! We’re honored and excited about our participation in this very exciting event!

We ask all of our friends, clients and prospective clients to come and visit us at this very special event. Tickets are $10 for adults and you can receive a four day pass for only $15.

The Camellia flower comes in many colors, white, pink, red and even yellow flowers.

The Victorian meanings states that each color of the Camellia had a special message: pink indicates” longing”, red meant “you’re  a flame in my heart”, and white stands for perfection and loveliness!

In China, the Camellia represents the devotion of lovers to each other.

Many brides want the Camellia flower placed in their wedding bouquets because they represent a pure form of love. These flowers are usually combined with other types of flowers to make a beautiful wedding bouquet. Commonly paired flowers are peonies, roses, and tulips.

The Camellia flower is also the state flower  of Alabama. You may want to incorporate this lovely  flower in your Southern wedding!

The Greek mythology that surrounds this beauty has added to its glamour as it was said to have come to life in the spot where its namesake, Narcissus died while gazing at his reflection in a pool of water.

There are dozens of varieties of Narcissus. The most popular is the daffodil, paper white, or the jonquil. The Daffodil are the national emblem of Wales.

It has an intoxicating scent and is one of the many flowers of love. It is available from October till April.

Narcissi is one of my favorites because of its colorful history. The  beauty of Narcissi have earned the right to be considered a flower of vanity!

(1) Look at their portfolio or website for each vendor. Be sure they have an up to date, professional looking website.

(2) Your venue may encourage you to use their vendors, in my opinion this is a very good thing. Your venue is not going to refer someone to you who does not do excellent work and can be trusted.

(3) Be sure you click with them on a personal level and a professional level, friendly, easy to work with, on-time, etc.

Choosing your wedding vendors is the most important part of your wedding!

The Peony flower is one of the longest-used flowers in ornamental culture. Peonies have been cultivated in Asia for more than a thousand years. They are linked with ancient Greek mythology and have a long and storied history. It it said that the peony flower has special powers and grants its recipient the power to keep a “secret”. In its very tight clenched petals, its said that a nymph could hide!

These flowers come in many colors and shades and are very fragrant with a sweet scent. They are one of my favorites, a little romantic,a little fun, but always timeless!

1. To pin a corsage, hold the corsage just below the left shoulder. Ask the person if they have a jacket if they are planning on leaving it on the entire evening so you can pin it through both pieces of fabric.

2. Put the pin over the stem, through the ribbon that is wrapped on the stem, at an upward angle push the pin to catch the fabric on the other side of the stem to hold it firmly in place. Then push the pin out to the surface of the fabric. Add another pin a bit higher on the stem.

3. Wristlets are another option you can order instead of a corsage. These are worn on the left arm. Nosegay bouquets are an excellent alternative for the Mom’s . They are simply very small bouquets that are carried. Personally, I love these!

To Pin a Boutonniere:

1. Hold the boutonniere by the flower stem with your left hand.

2. Put the boutonniere on the left lapel, about four inches down from the left shoulder of the gentleman wearing it.

3. Hold the pin with your right hand and from behind the lapel, push it through the fabric.

4. The pin should pierce the flower stem. Inserting the tip of the pin through the fabric and back out of the lapel.

5. Tug gently on the stem to be sure it is fastened securely in place for your wedding day photographs!

It is very easy! Just take your time and don’t rush!
